Obituary of Charles J. "Chuckie" Cetrullo

Charles J. “Chuckie” Cetrullo, 61, of Peabody died at the VA Boston Heathcare System, Brockton Campus on Thursday, April 25, 2013 with his family by his side. Chuckie was raised in East Boston and Peabody. He attended Essex Agricultural and Technical School in Danvers, MA. Upon graduation, he enlisted and served as a cook in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. At one point during his Naval career he was cooking for a population of three thousand shipmates. Upon being honorably discharged, Chuckie continued his career as a cook in many local eating establishments. His dedication to his fellow veterans is how Chuckie will best be remembered. As a member of the DAV and the American Legion, Chuckie would provide rides to veteran’s medical appointments throughout the region. Additionally, every May, he would place American flags on all veteran’s graves at Woodlawn and Glendale Cemeteries in honor of Memorial Day. Donating his time and making life easier for his comrades was most important to him. He is survived by his four children, Kimberly, Charlie, James and Angelina, his mother, Louise H. (Clark) Cetrullo of Peabody, his sisters and brothers-in-law Elizabeth and Thomas Sigman of Seabrook, NH, Linda and Jeff Hillman of Tewksbury, MA., and Brenda and Frank Costa of Peabody. Chuckie is also survived by his sister-in-law Colleen Cetrullo of Saugus. He was predeceased by his father Frank A. Cetrullo, Sr. and his brother Frank A. Cetrullo, Jr. His funeral will be held on Monday, April 29, 2013 at 9:30 A.M. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn Street, Peabody, MA., followed by burial at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday afternoon, April 28, 2013 from 3 to 5 P.M.
