Obituary of Matthew A. "Matt" Monaco

Matthew A. “Matt” Monaco, 30, of Peabody, died unexpectedly on Sunday, April 28, 2013 at Lahey Clinic North Shore. Matt was born in Malden, on April 22, 1983, son of Nancy C. (Connarton) Monaco and the late Angelo J. Monaco. He was raised in Charlestown and moved with his family to Peabody in 1998 graduating from Peabody Veterans Memorial High School. He then enlisted into the U.S. Marine Corps and was Honorably Discharged. Matt was employed as carpenter and also as an auto body repairman at North Shore businesses. He enjoyed cooking, fishing, hiking, wild life and following sports, and spending time with his nephew and 2 nieces. In addition to his mother of Peabody, Matt is survived by his brother Timothy J. Monaco and his significant other Shannon Lundin of Peabody; a nephew and 2 nieces, Andrew Monaco, Laneigh Lundin-Monaco and Oliviah Lundin-Monaco; an aunt and 2 uncles, Mary T. and Frank Burgess of Peabody, and Michael Connarton, and many other aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Kelly Ann Monaco in 2003. The family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, May 2, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday at 7 p.m. The family requested that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Matt’s name to CAB Health and Recovery Services of Danvers, 111 Middleton Rd., Danvers, MA 01923.
