Obituary of Francisco Santos Silva

Francisco Santos Silva PEABODY—Francisco Santos Silva, 71, beloved husband of Etelvina (Lima) Silva of Peabody, died peacefully on Tuesday evening April 30, 2013 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. Born in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Joao Silva Sousa DaSilva and Maria Isabel Santos. He lived in Graciosa for 39 years. He moved to Peabody in 1980 where he lived for 33 years. Mr. Silva worked in the leather industry with Masino Leather, Cut-Rite Leather, and Salem Suede before retiring. He loved gardening, and was devoted to his family, his faith, and especially his grandson. He is survived by his wife Etelvina (Lima) Silva of Peabody; a son Elio DaSilva of Peabody; a grandson Mason A. DaSilva of Peabody; four sisters Crisolina Machado of Peabody, Madalena Silva of Canada, Delminda Neves of the Azores, and Natalia of the Azores, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death, besides his parents, by sisters Lourdes Gil, Rosa Arrude, and Zulmira Machado. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Saturday May 4, 2013 at 8 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Friday from 5 – 8 P.M. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
