I had the distinct honor of serving with Don when he was the 1SG of our PATRIOT Battery in Germany circa '85-'88. Don had the responsibility of dozens of America's sons and a few daughters under his tutelage. But, let there be no mistake, they were "(his) soldiers." As a young 2LT in the unit, I had my share of "officer counseling sessions." No matter what, Don was watching out for the soldiers in the unit. Like NASCAR's Intimidator, Don could get fired up when he had to be. But, he could also be the coolest cat in the room when he wanted to be. As news of Don's passing spread throughout the on-line 2/43d ADA community, we all recalled his passion for the Army as well as letting off some steam at the Rod and Gun Club listening to "Custer's Last Band." Don, you made us all better soldiers, officers, men, and women! Your legacy will live on in each of us, and there's no simply no greater tribute. I salute you SGM Lamm! RIP....

May God rest the soul of this extraordinary man who served our Nation and our Raytheon Company with outstanding performance in every endeavor, with integrity in all his dealings with others and with a smile and sense of humor that made the day of the moodiest colleague. And may God richly bless all of the Family as they mourn his passing; be sure to celebrate his life for it was one truly worth living and always worth remembering. I shall never forget knowing and working with Don in some very challenging taskings; his positive attitude and broad technical expertise were instrumental in solving the most difficult problems. Rest well, Sergeant Major, you have earned your reward. George A Landis, BG, US Army, Retired.

He will be missed , A great man, the comfort is knowing he is now not in pain. Don would go out of his way to help those who needed help. He was a wonderful man, and he is a wonderful spirit.
You will be missed my friend, but not forgotten. Mischievous comes to mind when I think of Don.
For Deb...the journey together the last couple years has been paved in wonders and challenges. Don Lamm was a terrific Raytheon Mentor and teacher. I'll always be in his debt for how he helped me with my Raytheon career. Don was a great person, a strong leader, a dedicated soldier, who always had the soldier's best interest in everything he did. The few times I was blessed to receive entertainment from Don and his band, were some of my fondest memories. Don is a great American and friend to us all. He will be missed. God bless Don and his family. You have my most profound sympathy and deepest respect!
