Obituary of Marie (Cunha) Kerkorian

Marie (Cunha) Kerkorian PEABODY—Marie (Cunha) Kerkorian, 79, beloved wife of the late Abraham Kerkorian, died peacefully Thursday evening May 2, 2013 at the North Shore Medical Center—Salem Hospital following an ill turn at her home last week. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Laura (Silva) Cunha. She graduated from Peabody High School, and was a lifelong Peabody resident. She worked with Sylvania and Hytron in Danvers, and was a Secretary at St. Thomas the Apostle Church on the Peabody/Salem line for several years before retiring after Fr. Burton was reassigned. Marie was a member of the Moose Lodge of Salem, the Peabody Golden Agers, the Franco-American Club of Beverly, and the Portugues-American Veterans Post 1 of Peabody. She enjoyed travel, dancing, dining out, and lived a full, social life with good friends. She will be dearly missed by all who she touched. She is survived by a niece Rosalina (Rose) Costa and her husband Manny of Deming, New Mexico; two nephews Donnie and Raymond; a great-niece Donna Martine, Maureen Albright & her daughter Natasha Farren; a great-nephew Manny Costa & his sons Jared and Hunter, several other great-nieces & great-nephews, and many good friends especially Connie Foisy. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers John Cunha, Anibal Cunha, and Joe Cunha, and sister Doris Fontaine. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Wednesday May 8, 2013 at 8 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody. Visiting hours are today (Tuesday) from 4 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
