Obituary of Stanley A. "Sonny" Dzielnik

Stanley A. “Sonny” Dzielnik PEABODY—Stanley A. “Sonny” Dzielnik, 73, beloved husband of Marcia J. (Patrican) Dzielnik, died peacefully on Monday May 6, 2013 at the Aviv Centers for Living in Peabody with the comforting presence of his family at his side. Born in Peabody on August 22, 1939, he was the loving son of the late Stanley and Stella (Kotulak) Dzielnik. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, Class of 1957. He served a patriotic duty to his country and state, honorably discharged from the National Guard. Sonny, as he was fondly known, held many jobs during his lifetime, and was most recently employed by the City of Peabody as a custodian at the PVMHS/Peabody High School which he enjoyed immensely. Sonny was devoted to his Polish heritage and loved all sports. A long-time resident of Peabody, Sonny was a communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Peabody. He was a proud member and Past President of the St. Michael’s Society, and also belonged to the United Polish Organizations, A.O.H., and B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge 1409 all of Peabody. Sonny enjoyed vacationing with his wife and their time spent together at their home in Fort Myers Beach, FL. To know Sonny was to love him; his life was blessed by many friendships. In addition to his wife Marcia Dzielnik of Peabody, with whom he shared 53 years of marriage, Sonny is survived by his son David Dzielnik, and two daughters with their spouses Debra & Robert Pelletier and Donna Dzielnik & Brian Foisy; five cherished grandchildren, Tracey Claveau, Erin Hunt, Joshua Foisy, Amy and Stephen Cosimelli, Emily Pelletier and her fiancé Jonathan Johnson; his first great-grandchild Madelyn Rose Cosimelli; a sister and brother-in-law Dorothy & John Babiarz, and his nephews John and David Babiarz, and great-niece & great-nephew Aiden and Megan Babiarz. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for his Funeral Service to honor his life on Saturday May 11, 2013 at 10 AM in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4 – 8 P.M. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial donations may be made to MGH/North Shore Cancer Center, 102 Endicott St., Danvers, MA 01923
