Obituary of Dorothy (Kinney) Purington

Dorothy (Kinney) Purington of Peabody, 81 years, wife of Kenneth L. Purington died March 26, 2003 in Lynn Union Hospital after an extended illness. Mrs. Purington was born August 10, 1921 in Lynn, daughter of the late Harry L. and Helen (Lajoie) Kinney. She was raised and educated in Lynn moving to Peabody 16 years ago. In her spare time she enjoyed attending craft fairs, reading and traveling with her husband. Beside her husband with whom she shared 58 years of marriage she is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law; Robert Purington of Dixville Notch, NH and Richard and Margaret Purington of Danvers; four grandchildren, Donald, Matthew and Thomas Purington all of Rockport and Christopher Purington of Danvers. She was the mother of the late Donald Purington, grandmother of the late Elizabeth Purington and sister of the late Marilyn Noel and Arlene Kinney. Her funeral service will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home 12 Chestnut St. Peabody location (531-0398).
