Obituary of Agnes Georgion

Agnes Georgion, 91, of Peabody, died peacefully Tuesday evening at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Arthur Bravos and George Georgion. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Demitrios and Evthokia (Halvatzis) Sampsonis. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1939. Agnes was first employed as a sales accountant at Kay’s Jewelry and then before she retired, at the Peabody Housing Authority. She was a member of the Daughters of Penelope and Philopthos at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church in Peabody. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and friends at St. Vasilios Church. She was predeceased by her siblings, Niciforos, Peter, and Chris Sampsonis, Mary Plasteras, and Helen Tsouvalas. Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday at 1:30 PM at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Paleologos St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to the St. Vasilios Bell Tower Fund, 5 Paleologos St., Peabody, MA01960.
