Obituary of Chris Donna (Tsaltas) Smyrnios

Chris Donna (Tsaltas) Smyrnios, 78, of Peabody, died peacefully on Saturday evening at the Peabody Glen Nursing Home in Peabody following a long illness. She was the devoted wife of Charles Smyrnios with whom she shared over 51 years of marriage. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late George and Stella (Stathopoulis) Tsaltas. She was a lifelong resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1952. Chris was employed as an office manager for social services at Beverly Hospital for 15 years before she retired. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending her time with her family and later with her grandchildren and sharing in all of their endeavors. She will be dearly missed by all. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Lewis Smyrnios of Florida, George Smyrnios of NJ and Dean and his wife Leanne Smyrnios of Lynnfield, her three grandchildren, Alexander, Sarah, and Olivia Smyrnios, and also is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Theodore, Alexander, Charles, Rusty, and Mary Tsaltas, Kelly Kaden, and Ella Diamantides. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 9:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by her Funeral Service at 10:00 AM at St. Vasilios Greek Orthodox Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
