Obituary of Joyce F. (Griffin) Marini

Joyce F. (Griffin) Marini, 65, of Peabody and formerly of Everett, died early Friday morning, May 24, 2013 at the Rosewood Nursing Home in Peabody after a short illness. She was the loving wife of the late John M. “Hawk” Marini who died in 2008. She was born in Everett on February 7, 1948, the daughter of the late William F. and Julia B. (Johnson) Griffin Jr. and was raised and educated there before moving to Peabody 40 years ago. She had been a claims representative with the Social Security Administration for a total of 34 years at the offices in Lynn, Malden and Chelsea prior to her retirement. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and was a parishioner of St. John the BaptistChurch in Peabody. She is survived by a son, Michael J. Marini of Peabody, a sister, Julia A. Griffin of Chelsea, a sister-in-law, Marion Marini of Billerica, her nephew Thomas and his wife Susan Marini and her great nephews, Matthew and Jacob Marini all of Billerica. A Visitation will be held on Monday and Tuesday, May 27 and 28th at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 20 Church St. Downtown Peabody facility from 6:00 until 9:00 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John the BaptistChurch at 11:00 AM.
