Obituary of Michael P. Murphy

Michael P. Murphy, 60, of Topsfield, died early Sunday morning, May 26th at the BeverlyHospital after a brief illness. He was the husband of Jeanne (Teel) Murphy and Earlier the late Carol (Clements) Hernandez. He was born in Lynn ,MA on November 30, 1952, the son of the late Clarence J. and Frances (Petkevitch) Murphy Jr. and had resided in Topsfield most of his life. Michael was a graduate of Wentworth Institute with a degree in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering and had operated Murphy Precision Machinery Company in Peabody for many years. Having a passion for motorcycles, he recently became a partner in the M and D. Cycles store in Topsfield. He loved animals and had been a breeder of German Shepherds and was very attached to his dog, “Tasha”. He enjoyed rock and role music and still has his first stereo that he made himself, He also liked to cook and made some special recipe meals for his family. Mike had been a coin collector for many years and also collected baseball cards. Of all the treasures that he had, he often said that his greatest achievement that happened to him was his children and enjoyed raising them to adulthood. He is survived by his wife Jeanne, of Topsfield, his daughters, Erica L. Murphy of Salem and Renae E. Murphy of Topsfield, a son Dale M. Murphy of Salem, his aunt Katherine Prizzito of Lynn and many cousins and loving friends. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility followed by a Service there at 2:00 PM.
