Obituary of John B. Burke

John B. Burke John B. Burke, 73, beloved husband of Ana (Alves) Burke, died unexpectedly Sunday morning May 26, 2013 at the Radius Healthcare Facility in Danvers, following an extended illness. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late John F. and Edwina (Serpa) Burke. He grew up in Beverly and graduated from Beverly High School. Mr. Burke worked with Pickering Oil Company as a truck driver for 18 years. He later was owner/operator of B & G Trucking, owning his business for 20 years until retiring 12 years ago. John enjoyed trips to Maine, using his computer, and lived quietly at home. He most notably volunteered his time and truck driving Santa Claus in the Beverly Santa Claus Parade for 15 years. He is survived by his wife Ana (Alves) Burke of Beverly sharing 28 years of their lives together; three daughters, Karen Bowman of NH, Shari Gri of Canada, and Lori Coleman of Peabody; three sons, John B. Burke, Jimmy Burke, and Joe Burke all of NH; six grandchildren, Kylee Coleman, McKenna Coleman, Jordan Gri, Kara Gri, Raymond Bowman and Joshua Bowman; one great-granddaughter Lillianna Bowman; two brothers, Daniel Burke of ME and Bernie Burke of Beverly; a nephew, former Beverly City Councilor John J. Burke now of Billerica, and other extended family throughout the North Shore. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Wednesday May 29, 2013 from 11:30 AM – 12:30 P.M. for a visitation, followed by a Funeral Service honoring his life at 12:30 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Cremation will follow.
