Obituary of Josephine G Welch

Josephine G Welch, 82 of Peabody and formerly Lynn, died early Saturday morning at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late William Welch Born in Everett, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Adelina (Colantuno) DeCarlo. She was raised and educated in Lynn and upon marrying her husband, she moved to Peabody where she has lived for the past 61 years. Josephine was employed part time as a bookkeeper and secretary for a furniture store and in the leather factories for many years before she retired. In her retirement, she enjoyed attending the Torigian Community Life Center in Peabody, playing her favorite card game whist, watching the Red Sox, and traveling to the Foxwood’s Casino in Connecticut. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Tracy Welch of Dover, her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and David Colson of Wakefield, and by her beloved five grandchildren, Lauren and Karen Welch, Joslyn Colson, Adam Colson and his wife Crystal, and Kristen Colson Her Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy can be made in her name to the Epilepsy Foundation P.O.
