Obituary of Anna E. (Bozek) (Nicholas) Girard

Anna E. Betty (Bozek) Girard, 74, a retired Clerk of Essex County Probate Court, died early Sunday morning at her home following a brief illness. Born in Peabody, she was a lifelong resident of the city. She was the daughter of the late Joseph & Anna (Marcinek) Bozek. She attended Peabody schools. Mrs. Girard had worked at Champion Lamp which eventually became part of GTE Sylvania, and at Salem Hospital. She worked as a Clerk for the Essex County Probate Court in Salem for many years until her retirement in February of 2002. She was a Past President of the North Shore Chapter Mothers of Twins Club, loved playing Bingo, travel especially to Atlantic City and Foxwoods, and loved having her family and friends in her company at home. She is survived by her children and their spouses, including: James & Patricia Nicholas, Donna A. Nicholas both of Peabody, Ann Marie Nicholas of Swampscott, and triplets Michelle M. Girard of Salem, Robert E. & Jill Girard of Peabody, and Matthew Girard of North Conway, NH; three grandchildren, Michael Girard of PA, Angelica Medina of Swampscott, and Lauren Nicholas of Peabody; one great-grandson, Mason Eftim and his mother, Stephanie Eftim of Amesbury; a brother, Francis X. Bozek of Danvers; a sister, Dorothy Gildow of Zainsville, OH, and numerous nieces & nephews. She was the former wife of Christy Chris Nicholas and Robert R. Girard, and was the sister of the late Matthew Bozek, Edward Bozek, and Helen Schult. Her funeral will be held on Thursday at 8 AM from the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St.of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 9 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 1 Margin ST., Peabody/Salem line. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, MA 01923.
