Obituary of Alexander E. Prue Jr.

Alexander E. Prue Jr., 80, formerly of Peabody, died Monday at the Soldier’s home at the QuigleyMemorialHospital, Chelsea after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Marie Ann (Raucci) Prue. He was born in Salem, MA on April 10, 1933, the son of the late Alexander and Mary (Gluck) Proulx and was raised in Peabody graduating from PeabodyHigh School. He entered the US Army serving in the Korean War prior to his discharge in 1955. Al then was employed as a Solderer and Welder with the M/A-Com Company in Burlington, MA for 35 years before his retirement. He had been a collector of coins, antiques and old movies. Following his retirement, Al had resided in Alton, NH for five years before moving to Ft. Myers, Florida for 10 years. He returned to Massachusetts in 2011 residing at the Quigley Memorial Soldier Home . He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Donald A. and Deborah Prue of Tampa, Florida, and John F. Prue of Alton, NH, a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia R. and John Panneton of Salem, MA, a brother Ronald Prue and his companion Sharyn Prestejohn both of Peabody, two grandchildren, Kaelin and Samantha Panneton of Salem, a sister-in-law, Margaret Febonio and her husband Edwin of West Palm Beach, FL and many nephews. A Visitation will be held on Monday, June 10, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His Funeral Service will be held there on Tuesday at 1:30 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Lynn. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Quigley Memorial hospital, 91 Crest Ave., Chelsea, MA02150 in his memory.
