Obituary of Gladys L. (Weinburg) Tedford

Gladys L. (Weinburg) Tedford, 75, beloved wife of Ernest Tedford, died unexpectedly at her home on Sunday morning. Born in Salem, she was the daughter of the late Henry and Theresa (Feeney) Weinburg. She was a lifelong resident of the city and attended Salem schools. Mrs. Tedford worked in Housekeeping and Transport Assistance, altogether with 15 years of service at Salem Hospital before retiring 15 years ago. She enjoyed Water Aerobics at the Salem YMCA, travelling by Motor Home and visiting friends and relatives throughout the country after retiring. She is survived by her husband, Ernest Tedford of Salem, with whom she shared 55 years of marriage; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jean & Ben Hernando and Ginger & Bill Coffin, both of Salem; eight grandchildren, Paul Cena, J.R. Coffin, and Mark Hernando, all of Salem, Jennifer Bulger of Beverly, Robin Reid , Timothy Hernando, Diana Hernando, and Donna Estes, all of Lynn, 16 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, George Weinburg of Florida, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, including Henry Weinburg, John Weinburg, Thomas Weinburg, Richard Weinburg, Grace McEwen, Marguerite Grunda, Mary Jalbert, and Patricia Cookson. Her Funeral Ceremony will be held on Thursday at 11 AM in the Conway facility at 12 Chestnut St. of the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited. Cremation will precede the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National Fibromyalgia Assoc., 2238 N. Glassell St., Suite D, Orange, CA 92865
