Obituary of H. Gerard Donohie

H. Gerard “Gerry”Donohie, 84, of Collegeville, PA, and formerly of Danvers and Peabody, MA, died on Friday, June 14, 2013 after a short illness. He was the loving husband of Patricia (Kelley) Donohie. He was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 2, 1929, and was raised there graduating form VillanovaCollege. He had been in Sales with the Jet Engine division of General Electric in Lynn for over 30 years prior to his retirement. He had first resided in Peabody where he had been a member and past president of the Peabody Jaycees and later moved to Danvers. He enjoyed boating and had been a member of the Squares-in-Focus Square Dance group of Peabody.He and his wife Pat were active members of St, Mary of the AnnunciationChurch in Danvers before moving back to Collegeville, PA. Jerry enjoyed history and traveling and he and his wife Pat had traveled to over 100 countries . He is survived by his wife, Pat of Collegeville, PA, three sons and a daughter-in-law, Paul and Audrey Donohie, Mark Donohie and John Dohohie and a granddaughter, Elicia Donohie and many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Eileen Donohie- Hall and the brother of the late Paul Donohie and Rev. John Donohie. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday morning from 10:00 AM unti 11:00 AM at St. Eleanor’s RC Church at 647 Locust St., Collegeville, PA followed by a Memorial Mass there at 11:00 AM. Internment will be private. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 879, Hershey, PA17033 in his memory.
