Obituary of K. Elinor (Waters) Gustafson

K. Elinor (Waters) Gustafson PEABODY—K. Elinor (Waters) Gustafson, 93, beloved wife of the late Walter Gustafson, died Sunday June 16, 2013 at the Pilgrim Rehab & Skilled Nursing Center in Peabody, following a brief illness. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Henry B. and Helen (Mulcahy) Waters. She was a graduate of Peabody High School, Class of 1936, and a lifelong resident of the city. Mrs. Gustafson was employed in the cafeteria food service with the City of Peabody Public Schools, retired in 1981. She later volunteered at the J.B. Thomas Hospital in Peabody, which later became Kindred Hospital, for 20 years. Elinor was faithfully devoted as an active member of the St. Ann’s Church in Peabody. She was a member of the A.O.H. in Peabody, active with the Peabody Council on Aging and the Torigian Life Center, and liked playing cards. She will be dearly missed by her family and those who knew her. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Paul & Melissa Gustafson of Peabody; a grandson Michael Gustafson of Peabody; a sister Mary Newton of Lynnfield, and many nieces and nephews. The family is grateful for the devotion of her caretakers, Kathy, Jeanne, and Bobbi over the past 10 years. She was preceded in death, besides her husband and parents, by a son William Gustafson and sister Anna Vance. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Thursday June 20, 2013 at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 3 – 5 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
