Obituary of Elizabeth (Christian) Lopes

Elizabeth (Christian) Lopes, beloved wife of John A. Lopes of Danvers, died peacefully at her home in the comforting presence of his family, on Sunday June 16, 2013. Born in Revere, she was the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Driscoll) Hasman. She grew up in Boxford and graduated from Masconomet Regiona lHigh School. She then studied at Beverly Hospital to be an X-Ray Technician. Mrs. Lopes worked as an X-Ray Technician for Salem Hospital and Beverly Hospital for many years. Elizabeth enjoyed traveling with her husband to many places, including the Caribbean, Europe, Austria, Egypt and the Pyramids, the Holy Land of Jerusalem, and skiing throughout New England. She was a good swimmer, enjoyed sewing clothes, and was a member of the Danvers Garden Club. She especially enjoyed cooking and time spent with her family. She is survived by her husband, John A. Lopes of Danvers; a daughter Tiffany Lopes of Peabody; a son Scott Lopes of Danvers; two grandchildren, Ciara and Hunter; four sisters, Marge Webster of FL, Kathleen Coker of TX, Linda DeBoer of NH, and Robin Peters of OH, a brother, Robert “Skipper” Christian of NH, and several nieces, nephews, and extended Lopes family of Peabody. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Friday at 9:OO AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Peabody.
