Obituary of Phyllis L. (Erwin) Erickson

Phyllis L. (Erwin) Erickson, 88, of Peabody, and formerly of Gloucester, died Thursday, June 20, 2013 at the NSMC – UnionHospital in Lynn after a short illness. She was the beloved wife of the late Waino Erickson. She was born in Salem, MA on December 12, 1912, the daughter of the late William and Mary A. (Pitman) Erwin and moved in her youth to Gloucester where she resided most of her life in the Lanesville section before moving to Peabody 17 years ago. While in Gloucester, she had worked for a few years as a Ward Secretary at the Addison-GilbertHospital. Phyllis loved to cook and have her family over for her favorite Sunday Dinners. She also enjoyed going to the Beach, rooting for her Red Sox but her cherished time was spent being with her family. Phyllis loved animals and had enjoyed having time with her dog “Desi”. She is survived by three daughters, Linda and her husband Robert Rummel of Peabody, Sheila and her husband Michael Gaudette of Salem and Jane and her husband Gary Hiltz of Gloucester, a brother Edward Erwin of Saugus, her five grandchildren, William Fritz of Lynn, Thomas Fritz of Georgetown, Michael Fritz of Methuen, Lonny Johnson of Peabody and Kelli Gould of Worcester, five great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Family Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
