Obituary of Margaret Bernadette Butler
Miss Margaret Bernadette Butler, 82, of Peabody, died Friday evening the Lahey Clinic in Burlington after a short illness.
She was born in Peabody on March 21, 1922, the daughter of the late Thomas and Margaret (Buckley) Butler and had resided here all her life.
She was a graduate of Peabody High School and had been employed in the Leather Industry in Peabody at the former A.C. Lawrence Leather Company where she was employed for over 35 years prior to her retirement.
She was the last survivor of eight children and remained in the family residence and loved her neighborhood and neighbors. She corresponded throughout the country to those who formerly lived in the area.
She is survived by 3 nieces, Diane Keenan of Salem, Barbara Butler of Peabody and Deborah Kolb of Des Moines, Iowa, a grand nephew, William Smith of Salem. She was the sister of the late Thomas, Leonard, Francis and Michael Butler, Gertrude Keenan, Mary Dragon and Genevieve Butler.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 10:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 12 Chestnut St., Peabody location. Visiting hours on Wednesday from
6:00 until 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends kindly invited. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem.
