Obituary of John J Spain

John J. Spain, 41, of Peabody and formerly of Lynn, died Thursday evening at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington following a brief illness. Born in Malden, he was the son of Lenora (Franco) Spain of Peabody and the late Francis Spain. He was raised and educated in Lynn and was a graduate of Lynn Classica lHigh School, class of 1991. John was employed for over 20 years as deli clerk at the Stop in Shop in Swampscott. He enjoyed working on computers and was fascinated with dragons. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family and sharing in all of their endeavors. He is survived by his mother Lenora Spain of Peabody, his two sisters and brother-in-spirit, Lucy and Brian DeRoo of Peabody and Patricia Spain of Peabody and is also survived by four nieces and nephews, Jeremy and Heather DeRoo, Tori Ross, and Patrick Lee. His funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by his Funeral Mass at St. Adelaide’s Church, 708 Lowell St., Peabody at 12:00 Noon to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 PM. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Pine St., Peabody.
