Phil, many men walk the earth. Few leave footprints worthy of following. You, my friend, are among the few. You leave behind a legacy that transcends all that we know. Tom Brokaw labeled your generation as "The Greatest Generation". You can now take your place with the greatest of the great as you look down upon us. Goodbye for now, and Mahalo. David

Dear Mrs. Evans, John, Jim, Jan, Scott, and family,

As a youth,I was also impressed by Mr. Evans work ethic and summer projects on Prospect St. I was always in awe at how immaculate the property was kept, but my most impressive memory was a few years ago. I was visiting Mrs. Tengberg on Felton St at Christmas time. Her health was failing and your husband, father and grandfather came in with flowers for Clara. More importantly, he gave his time and concern for her. And now reading of his service to our country, his professional accomplishments and his giving back to his community and church, I truly realize what a great man he was. You are all very fortunate for his love and guidance. May God bless you during this time of sadness and may warm memories and gratitude for years spent together ease your sorrow. Please accept my sympathies on his passing.

So sad to hear of Phil's passing. I treasure my years working at My Florist. We had such fun, and I learned so much from both Phil and Gloria about the florist business and about life itself. Phil was in the same category as my father . . . one of the finest men I have ever known.
Lynn Carney
