Obituary of Margaret (McManus) Dennehy

Margaret (McManus) Dennehy, 93, of Peabody, wife of the late Cornelius Dennehy, died on Saturday, July 6, 2103 with her family by her side at the Ledgewood Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center in Beverly. Mrs. Dennehy was born in Dover, NH, on September 14, 1919, daughter of Frank and Bridget (Murray) McManus. She was raised and educated in Dover. Following her marriage in 1939, she resided in Medford for most of her life before moving to Peabody in 1988. Margaret was employed for many years as a cook at Massachusetts General Hospital until her retirement. She was a loving mother who devoted her life to creating a home for her family, and later was so proud of her granddaughter Christina’s accomplishments. As hobbies, Margaret loved to care for her vegetable and flower gardens. Margaret is survived by her son and his wife, James and Elena Dennehy of Peabody; a daughter and her husband, Maureen Dennehy – Tomaselli and Anthony Tomaselli of Orlando, Florida; a granddaughter, Christina Dennehy of Peabody; a sister, Katherine McManus of Dover, NH, and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters. Her Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited and may pay their respects on Wednesday prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Burial will be held at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
