Obituary of Melinda Julia (Espindle) Mello
Melinda J. (Espindle) Mello, 93, of Peabody, died peacefully Wednesday morning at the Kaplan family Hospice House in Danvers. She was the wife of the late Daniel Mello who died in 1999. She was born in Peabody on May 2, 1920, the daughter of the late Frank and Julia (Viera) Espindle and was a lifelong resident graduating from PeabodyHigh School. Melinda in her earlier years was a hairdresser in Lynn at Lucia’s Hair Salon.
She was a devout parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church and enjoyed cooking and caring for her family. She is survived by a son, Philip J. Mello of Peabody, two grandchildren, Adrianne Disbrow of Ghost of Springs, Colorado and Alissa Mello of Queens, NY, three great grandchildren, Savannah Disbrow, Danny Disbrow, one day old Nina Kelly, a daughter-in-law, Frances Mello and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Daniel Mello and William F. Mello, and the sister of the late John and Leo Espindle and Phyllis Mello.
A Visitation will be held on Sunday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Monday at 8:00 AM from the funeral home followed by a Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Walsh Ave., Peabody at 9:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of the NorthShore, 75 Sylvan St., Suite 102B, Danvers, MA01923 in her memory.
