Obituary of Wilfred A. Mador

Wilfred A. Mador, 74 PEABODY—Wilfred A. Mador, 74, of Peabody, beloved husband of the late Norma Jean (Steele) Mador, died peacefully on Friday July 12, 2013 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, while in the comforting presence of his family. Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late Wilfred and Theresa (Coute) Mador. He grew up there, and graduated from Taunton High School. He then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served a patriotic duty with a 23 year career that included serving in the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged as a Gunnery Sargeant. He moved to Peabody as his family and children were born, and lived in Peabody for the last 35 years. He worked on Aircraft Engines with General Electric in Lynn for 27 years before retiring. Wilfred was a member of the Marine Corps League. He enjoyed collecting stamps and had an extensive collection from all corners of the world. He will mostly be remembered for his loving dedication to his family, was very involved in all of their activities and coaching various sports, and for the shining example to his children of how to be a wonderful father. He is survived by a son and three daughters, Dennis Mador of CA, Danielle Mador of Peabody, Heather & her husband Jon Niemszyk of Woburn, and Jolene & her husband Ed McCusker of FL; four grandchildren, Samantha, Hannah, and John Niemszyk of Woburn, and Erin McCusker of FL; a sister Jean Arikian of Taunton, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may gather on Tuesday July 16, 2013 at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Ann’s Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Monday from 5 – 8 P.M. in the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
