Obituary of Lawrence W. Cunha Sr.

Lawrence W. Cunha Sr., 73, of Holbrook, NY and formerly of Malden and Wakefield, MA, died Monday at the Stony BrookUniversityHospital in Stony Brook, NY after a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Charlene (Burke) Cunha. He was born in Arlington, MA, the son of the late Jesse and Margaret (Erickson) Cunha and was raised and educated in Wakefield, MA.. He later lived in Malden,MA and also in North Reading and Middleton, MA before moving to Holbrook, NY 4 years ago. Lawrence was a graduate of NortheasternUniversity and had been a structural engineer in the architectural Design field for several years. He later was the proprietor of the Larene Steel Products Inc. in MA prior to his retirement 10 years ago. He enjoyed playing golf, going bowling and traveling with his wife. He most enjoyment came spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife , Charlene of Holbrook, NY, a son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence W. and Lila Cunha Jr. of Oahu, HI, three daughters, Christine Kamalic and her companion, Denis O’Leary of Holbrook, NY, Michele and her husband Ken Gesualdo Jr. of Londonderry, NH and Vicki Cunha and her companion Jimmy Walsh of Malden, MA, his siblings, Richard and his wife Marie Cunha of Hudson, FL, Marjorie Knight of Rochester, NH,Carolyn and David Rourke of Lynnfield, MA, a sister-in-law, Nancy Lyons of Peabody, two brothers –in-law, David and his wife Betty Burke of Gloucester, MA, and Larry Di Nino of Enfield, CT, six grandchildren, Christopher, Eric, Kayla, Amanda, Lauren and Will and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Jesse and his wife Carolyn Cunha, James Cunha and Joan Di Nino and brother-in-law of the late Arthur Knight and Ken Lyons. A Visitation will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. His funeral will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John the BaptistChurch, Church St., Peabody at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in PuritanLawnMemorial Park, Peabody.
