Obituary of Stephen T. "Steve" Buckley III

Stephen T. Buckley III, son of the late Stephen T. Buckley, Jr. and Margaret M. (Hingston) Buckley, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at his home after a long illness. Steve was raised in Peabody and graduated from Bishop Fenwick High School class of 1967, and pursued his education at Sadie Brown Collegiate Institute, New York, NY until 1970, Nichols College and Emerson College. He played the drums, accordion, and always enjoyed a good clam roll. Having a special place in his heart for music, Steve enjoyed going to Tanglewood and eventually became an avid volunteer there. During high school Steve worked part time in our family business, Larrabee and Hingston in Peabody, a manufacturer of wooden tannery wheels. Following college and early in his working career Steve was employed in marketing by the Parker House Hotel, and the Children’s Inn as well. He later became a Realtor and was the manager of the Vernon A. Martin Real Estate office located in Danvers. Later in life he returned to where his working days had started at Larrabee and Hingston, working until our business closed in1995. Steve leaves behind 2 sisters and brother-in-law, Marie E. and John Bishop, and Joanne M. Buckley all of Peabody, a brother, Timothy S. Buckley of CA; his nieces and nephews, Michael, Patric and Samantha Bishop, Sarah Lojko, Emily Skop; a great niece and great nephew, Lauren and Jonathan Lojko. He also leaves behind his cats, Itchy and Scratchy. Steve was predeceased by his brother Robert T. “Beaver” Buckley. A celebration of Steve's life will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. at 157 Lowell Street, Peabody, MA. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
