Obituary of Doris O. (Rivard) Brennan

Doris O. (Rivard) Brennan, 69, of Peabody and formally of Lynnfield and Lawrence, died early Tuesday evening at her home following a brief illness. She was the loving wife of Thomas P. Brennan. Born and raised in Lawrence, she was the daughter of the late Elphege and Angelina (Baillargeon) Rivard. She was educated in Lawrence and was a graduate of St. Mary’ s High School, class of 1951. She later had resided in Lynnfield for 25 years and has spent the last 6 years living in Peabody. Prior to her retirement she had worked in the insurance industry in the bookkeeping and accounting departments, first at John Hancock in Boston for 12 years and later for American Mutual in Wakefield. She enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening and taking walks with her husband. Besides her loving husband, she is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Beverly Brennan of Portsmouth, NH and Rosemary and Nicholas Torello of Reading; a brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Sandra Rivard of Chelmsford; a sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne and Mickey Hodge of Methuen and several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Louise Goguen. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass in St. John’ s Church at 11:00 AM to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Expressions of Sympathy can be made to the Hospice of the North Shore, 10 Elm St., Danvers, Ma 01923.
