Obituary of Bonnie M. Vera

Bonnie M. Vera, 56, loving wife of Timothy “Tim” Vera, died after a courageous battle with lung cancer on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 with her family by her side at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers. Bonnie was born in Cambridge, on July 6, 1957, daughter of the late Alfred and Lucille (Gomes) Grace. She was raised and educated in Cambridge, moving to Peabody 26 years ago. Bonnie was self employed and owned a grooming, boarding and walking dog business until her illness. Bonnie was a loving mother who devoted her life to creating a home for her family. For the past 13 years Bonnie’s life revolved around her 3 grandchildren whom she adored, and she enjoyed supporting them with their sports activities and scholastic achievements. As hobbies Bonnie was an avid nature lover who enjoyed all animal life, fishing, shopping, gardening, and especially going to the beaches at Cape Cod. In addition to her husband Tim with whom she shared 33 years of marriage, Bonnie is survived by her children and their spouses, Andrea M. and Robin DiDonato of Beverly, Jessica and Jason Mello of Danvers, Joshua T. Vera of Peabody; 3 grandchildren, Taylor Mello, Nolan DiDonato and Tyler Mello; 2 brothers, Roger Grace and his wife Denise, and Phillip Grace all of Peabody; 2 nephews and a niece, James Grace, George Grace and Vanessa Grace; a lifetime friend, Kelly Kilduff and her husband Don of Salem, and many other friends. Bonnie was predeceased by her sister Rhonda Grace. Bonnie’s family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, August 4, 2013 from 3 to 7 p.m at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Her Celebration of Life service will be held in the funeral home at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, August 5, 2013, and relatives and friends may also pay their respects in the morning from 10:30 a.m. to the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty St., Danvers, MA 01923. A family committal of ashes will be held at a later time.
