Obituary of Edith Grant (Hutchinson) Jordan

Edith (Hutchinson) Jordan, 91, of Peabody, died early Sunday morning surrounded by her family at her home following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Dana Jordan. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late George and Mildred (Chaput) Hutchinson. She was a life long resident of Peabody and a graduate of Peabody High School. Edith enjoyed reading, sewing, baking, doing jigsaw puzzles, going to yard sales, bowling and playing cards with her friends. She also enjoyed feeding the birds in her backyard and was always known by others as wearing decorative pins, but what she most enjoyed was spending time with her family. She will be dearly missed by all. Edith is survived by her son Edward Jordan of Texas, her daughter, Barbara Jagla and her life partner Keith Young of North Reading, her brother-in-law, David Jordan of FL, her beloved grandchildren Lauren Jagla of Honolulu, HI and Barbara Lynn of TX, her step grandchildren, Samantha, Kyle, and Bryan Young all of Tewksbury and by several nieces and nephews. Following cremation a family graveside will be scheduled at the family lot in Pine Grove Cemetery, Topsfield in October. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Haven from Hunger, 71 Wallis St., Peabody, MA 01960. Arrangements were made by the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody.
