Obituary of Filomena (Lima) Silva

Filomena (Lima) Silva, 66, of Peabody, passed away Monday August 5th, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was the beloved wife of the late Analiano O. Silva, who passed away in December 2012. Filomena was born and raised in Graciosa, Azores, daughter of the late Manuel Bettencourt and the late Cecilia Lima. She was educated there until moving to the United States 43 years ago. While residing in Peabody, she worked at Analogic as a solderer, until retiring a few years ago. She was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church in Peabody. Some of her favorite hobbies were crocheting and knitting, but most importantly she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, and especially her cherished cat, Princess. Her love, kindness, and warmth will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her sons, Manuel & Gorete Silva of Peabody, David Silva of Peabody, and her daughter, Jessica and Vincenzo Manzo of Peabody, her grandchildren, Johnathan, Jake, Dylan, Isabella, and Natatlia all of Peabody, her sister, Maria Pais of Peabody, her cat, Princess, many nieces, nephews, godchildren, and many dear friends. Filomena was 1 out of 5 children in her family. A visitation will be held, Thursday, August 8, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Her funeral will be held on Friday, August 9, at 8:00 AM at the Funeral Home followed by a Mass in Our Lady of Fatima Church, 50 Walsh Ave., Peabody at 9:00 AM. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
