Obituary of Richard A DiOrio, Sr.

Richard A. DiOrio, Sr., 75, of Peabody, formerly of Everett, died peacefully Friday evening surrounded by his loving family at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Josephine “Pinky” (Ludemann) DiOrio with whom he shared over 55 years of marriage. Born in Everett, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Bucciero) DiOrio. He was raised and educated in Everett and later upon marrying his wife “Pinky” moved to Peabody where he has lived for over 53 years. Richard was the owner/operator along with his son Richard Jr. of the Richard’s Cleaning Service based in Peabody and Middleton for the past 38 years. Richard enjoyed spending time in his yard doing gardening at his home in Peabody as well as his Lake House home in Salem, New Hampshire. His favorite time was spending time with his children and later his grandchildren and great grandchildren and sharing in all of their endeavors. Besides his loving wife of 55 years he is survived by his loving children and their spouses, Rhonda and Allen Cummings of Peabody, Richard A. DiOrio, Jr. and his wife Darleen of Middleton, Denise and Daniel Mahoney, Charles and Cindy DiOrio, and Christine and Keith St. George, all of Peabody and Julie and Thomas Sinatra of Wakefield, his siblings, Edith Romano and Theresa Stamchi, both of Revere, Joseph DiOrio of Peabody and Marie Prezioso of Saugus and is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his two brothers, Michael and Ernest DiOrio. His Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
