Obituary of Maria (Dos Santo) Ramos

Maria Santos (Dos Santos) Ramos, 84, of Peabody, died early Wednesday morning at the Peabody Glen Nursing Center following a long illness. She was the devoted wife of Edmundo Ramos with whom she shared over 65 years of marriage. Born in Graciosa, Azores, Portugal, she was the son of the late Herminio and Noimia Silva. She was raised and educated in Portugal, later immigrated to the United States, and has been living in Peabody for the past 45 years She worked in the shoe industry as a stitcher for a number of years prior to retirement many years ago. She also was a member of the Holy Ghost Society and was very active in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Donna Ramos of Danvers and Manuel and Armanda Ramos of Peabody, her brother and sisters, Ezalina Silva of the Azores, Portugal, Lucas Silva and Adelia Espinola, both of Canada, she is also survived by a granddaughter, Diane Bachour and two great grandchildren, Etienn and Celine Bachour, all of Coral Springs, Fla. Her funeral service will be held on Saturday at 9:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 12 Chestnut St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Fatima Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Friday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in St. Mary’ s Cemetery, Salem.
