Obituary of Thomas W. Quinlan
Thomas W. Quinlan, age 64, of Peabody, formerly of Boxford, died April 15, 2003 at a local nursing home.
Born in Salem, October 27, 1938 , he was the son of the late Walter T. and Catherine (Brennan) Quinlan and the husband of Elaine (Gagnon) Quinlan with whom he shared forty years of marriage. Before moving to Boxford six years ago, he lived in Peabody for twenty-nine years.
Mr. Quinlan was a 1956 graduate of Marblehead High School and then went on to graduate from the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in 1961. He had been employed as a pharmacist for CVS Pharmacy for sixteen years. Prior to that he was a pharmacist at Eaton the Druggist in Marblehead for twenty years. Tom loved being a pharmacist who displayed his majic touch with customers and it was said that , as busy as he was, he always had a cheery "hello" and a kind word. He was the happiest when he had his grandchildren by his side riding his tractor.
He was in the U.S. Army Reserve during the Vietnam War and had been a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church while living in Boxford.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Michael Quinlan of Beverly; a daughter and her husband, Carolyn A. Nadworny and Richard C. Nadworny, Jr. of Boxford, a sister; Kathy Nash of Marblehead, two grandsons; Patrick and Matthew Nadworny both of Boxford.
His funeral will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St. Peabody location followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A. M. in St. John the Baptist Church , Peabody. Burial in St. Mary's Cemetery, Salem. Donations may be made in Tom's name to Hospice of the North Shore 10 Elm St. Danvers, MA 01923 Visiting hours Monday 5-8 P. M.
