Obituary of Clayton G. Bixbee

Clayton G. Bixbee, 66, of Peabody and formerly of Beverly, beloved husband of Susan Bixbee with whom he shared 32 years of marriage, died suddenly on Saturday, August 31, 2013 at his home. He was born in Beverly, the son of Virginia (McVey) Bixbee and the late Harry Bixbee. He was raised in Beverly and graduated from BeverlyHigh School in 1965 and had played on the Beverly Football team. Clayton then entered the US Navy and served during the Vietnam War prior to his discharge in 1968. He had been employed with NE Tel and Tel and later with Verizon Communications for 35 years prior to his retirement. He loved to watch the New England Patriots and traveling to Florida and Bermuda. He is survived by his wife, Susan, his loving daughter Nicole Bixbee of Peabody, his mother Virginia Bixbee and his brother Bradford Bixbee both of Beverly, a sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Woody Laroe of Florida, a sister-in-law, Judy Potvin and her husband Rick of Lynn and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his godson, Gifford Laroe. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 until 11:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility, followed by Services there at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Burial will be in CedarGroveCemetery, Peabody. Expressions of sympathy may be made to charity of your choice.
