Obituary of Alfred E. Corrigan

Alfred E. Corrigan PEABODY—Alfred E. Corrgian, 82, beloved husband of Alice (Stahowski) Corrigan of Peabody, died peacefully on Sunday September 1, 2013 at the E.N. Rogers VA Medical Center Hospital in Bedford, following an extended illness. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Ernest and Gertrude (MacDonald) Corrigan. He grew up there and graduated from Rindge Tech High School. After serving a patriotic duty in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, he studied at Boston University with a degree in Engineering. He then graduated from American University in Washington, D.C. with a Law Degree. Mr. Corrigan was a Patent Attorney with Polaroid Corporation in Cambridge for a nearly 40 year career. He retired in 1992. Al enjoyed living his life simply and quietly by spending time at home, in his garden, and gatherings with family and friends. He is survived by his wife Alice (Stahowski) Corrigan of Peabody, with whom he shared 57 years of marriage; three daughters, Doreen Corrigan of Alabama, Teresa Corrigan of Peabody, and Stephanie & her husband Vincent Saraceni of Peabody; two grandchildren, Alyssa and Michael Saraceni of Peabody; a brother Richard Corrigan of CA; a sister Margaret June Scarpetti of Peabody, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Thursday at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4 – 7 P.M. Burial in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody. Memorial donations may be made to the Revere League for Special Needs, 200 Winthrop Ave., Revere, MA 02151-3917.
