Obituary of Rev. John Beauregard

Rev. John Beauregard passed from this life to the next, in the care of Essex Park Nursing Home in Beverly MA in the forenoon of Tuesday Sept. 10, 2013. John was born Jan. 6, 1932 to Dorothy (Randall) and Louis Beauregard in Brockton Mass. He was predeceased by Mother and Father, brother Robert, sister Ruth (Richards), 1st wife Georgia (2001) and 2nd wife Beverly (2013). He is survived by a sister Marie Pike; 4 children: Paul of Danvers, Mark and wife Jenny of Hamilton, Andrew and wife Sarah (Prescott) of Winthrop, ME, and Sharon and husband John (Nichols) of Parkman, ME; 6 grandchildren Jessica, Gregory, Jason, Philip (Grindle), Lilly, and Remy; beloved sister-in-law Linda and husband Stan Snelgrove, brothers-in-law Bill and wife Betty Cain, and Bob and wife Bonnie Cain, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A diligent student, he lettered in hockey for Brockton High School, then Gordon College. He also graduated M.Div. from Gordon School of Theology (now Gordon Conwell Seminary) and helped the schools move from Boston to Wenham MA. After graduation and ten years serving churches and Bible schools in Maine, he returned to Hamilton as Librarian and Archivist, and hockey coach, at Gordon College, where he retired. He helped pioneer the NOBLE library system here in the North Shore. He also earned a PhD in Library Science from Harvard. After his first retirement, he worked with Endicott College in their Library for a time. Pastor John served more than 36 Interim Pastorates in Baptist churches around New England over his lifetime. He officiated at many weddings, and comforted many in grief and pain. His avid hockey prowess was kept active well past retirement. He was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, coach, brother, and friend. Friends and Family may call on Friday evening Sept. 13, 2013 from 5 to 8 pm at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday Sept. 14, 2013 at 10:30 AM in the Calvary Baptist Church, Peabody. Interment will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Danvers MA. Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Essex Park for their loving and compassionate care over the last 15 months.
