Obituary of Mary G. (O'Donnell) Wall RN

Mary G. (O’Donnell) Wall, of Peabody, died unexpectedly Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at her residence. She was the wife of the late Robert P. Wall. She was born in Everett, the daughter of the late Frederick and Theresa (Martin) Wall and was a graduate of Everett High School and later from St. Margaret’s Hospital Nursing School in Dorchester. She followed her father and brothers into military service and entered the US Air Force Nursing Corps as a 2nd Lieutenant. While stationed in France, she fell in love with Bob and they married and honeymooned in Paris. She proudly served for Six years and was honorable discharged. Mary and Bob moved to Peabody where they raised their four sons. She was immensely proud of the “Wall Boys” and the joy they brought her. She loved spending summers in New Hampshire at their cottage relaxing and hosting the many weekend cookouts for all family and friends. They loved Caribbean cruises with Matt and Priscilla Coleman. She had worked for 25 years at the Grover Manor Hospital in Revere. Later, in retirement, she and bob traveled extensively around the country and the world visiting friends and grandchildren. Mary so loved her 10 grandchildren and recently her great grandson. Mary leaves behind her sons David Wall and his wife Laura of Peabody, Michael Wall and his wife Dawn of Tarpon Springs, FL, Kevin Wall of Sandown, NH and Gregory Wall and his wife Susan of Canandaigua, NY, She will be most missed by her grandchildren, Ashleigh, Timothy and Christina of Peabody, Dianna (Wall) and Randy Brunet of Salem, MA, Patrick Wall and Meghan Wall and, Katelyn (Wall) and Christopher Workman all of Tarpon Springs, FL , David, Colin and Quentin Wall of Canandaigua, NY and a great grandson, Christopher Workman. She also leaves her sister-in-law, Ivy O’Donnell of CA, Theresa O’Donnell of Malden and Margaret (Wall) Mission of Myrtle Beach, SC and well as many nieces, Nephews and their children. She was preceded in death by her infant son, Douglas Wall and her brothers, Frederick, George, Lawrence, Joseph, Carl and William O’Donnell along with her sisters Anna O’Donnell and Isabella Keefe. A Visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home at the 82 Lynn St., Peabody facility. Her funeral will be held on Saturday at 12 Noon from the Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Adelaide’s Church, Lowell St., West Peabody at 1:00 PM.
