Obituary of Mark S. Bowman

Mark S. Bowman BOXFORD—Mark S. Bowman, 49, formerly of Topsfield and Peabody, husband of Cindy (Carlino) (Pelland) Bowman of Boxford, died unexpectedly on Friday evening September 27, 2013 at the Merrimack Valley Hospital in Haverhill. Born in Medford, he was the son of John Bowman of Peabody and the late Cathlene (Delaney) Bowman. He grew up in Peabody and graduated from Peabody High School, Class of 1982. He lived in Topsfield for several years, then recently moved to Boxford. Mr. Bowman was a Meat Cutter at Purity Supreme and Shaws in Peabody. He mostly has worked for the Boston Globe as Chairman of the Pressmenr in the Print Press Operations, and member of Pressman’s Guild Union, Local 3 of Boston. Mark had a very sociable personality, and would always act selflessly. His passion was music. He was a composer, and taught his son Sean, along with many others, to play guitar. His original band was Gangsters of Love and his son Sean played with him. His next band was Sweet Escape and he sang with his wife, Cindy. His band was scheduled to play at the opening of the Topsfield Fair next weekend. He had a studio in his house where he handled much of his band’s production. Mark was a generous spirit, who will mostly be remembered for his dedication and devotion to family, especially his children and step-children, trips to Lake St. George in Maine, and boating. He is survived by his wife Cindy (Carlino) Bowman of Boxford having been married since May; his son Sean Bowman and daughter Laura Bowman both of Topsfield; step children Sam and Marley Pelland both of Boxford; his father John Bowman of Peabody; his sister Deb Gillooly & her husband John “Jake”; a brother Dan Bowman of Haverhill; his former sister-in-law Maurine Bowman of Tyngsboro, he was the former husband of Cynthia (Trammell) Bowman of Topsfield, and he leaves several nieces and nephews, and aunts, uncles, and cousins. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather on Wednesday October 2, 2013 at 9 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in St. Adelaide’s Church, Peabody. A visitation will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 – 8 P.M. Cremation will follow the Funeral Mass. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 480 Pleasant St., Watertown, MA 02472 or to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
