Obituary of Thomas Pierzchala

Thomas Pierzchala, 83, of Peabody, died early Sunday morning at the Masconomet Health Care Center in Topsfield, following a brief illness. He was the devoted husband of Mary (Chojnacki) Pierzchala with whom he shared over 48 years of marriage. Born in Nawojowej, Poland, he was the son of the late Thomas and Helen (Kulpa) Pierzchala. He immigrated to the United States in 1949. Prior to his immigration, he served in the Polska Kompania #4013 during World War II. He was a professional painter for over 35 years working for the John Ahern Company in Melrose. He loved Art and was a meticulous painter and took great pride in his work both professionally and personally. He was a member of the Painters and Allied Trades Union, local 577, district council #35 and a member of the St. Michael’ s Lodge 630, P.N.A. He also enjoyed gardening, masonry work and watching sports, especially golf on T.V. Besides his loving wife, he leaves three sons and two daughters-in-law, Thomas and Mary Pierzchala, Michael and Madeleine Pierzchala, and Mark Pierzchala, all of Peabody, a daughter, Elaine Guzofski of Peabody, several late brothers and sisters from Poland. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Diane and Erin Pierzchala, and Kristen and Richard Guzofski. His funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody Facility, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12 Noon in St. Ann’ s Church, Peabody, to which relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visitation on Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the NSCC, 17 Centennial Dr., Peabody, Ma 01960.
