Obituary of Ida Longeway

Ida Longeway, of Salem, died Saturday afternoon at the Grosvenor Nursing Home in Salem following a long illness. She was the devoted wife of the late Milton E. Longeway. Born in Peabody, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Constance (Saints) Lewis. She was a lifelong resident of Salem. Ida was a member of the Carmel Club and enjoyed line dancing, reading, crossword puzzles, walking and knitting and had a great sense of humor. Her greatest joy was being with her family and sharing in all of their endeavors. She is survived by her son, Brian Longeway of Salem and by her sisters, Evelyn Nabozny of Peabody, Mary Lewis of Salem and Julie Linehan of Rochester, NY and is also survived by a niece and 3 nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Constance “Connie” Mello, and Manuel, Francis, and William Lewis. Her Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 – 11:00 AM. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
