Obituary of Dayner Hubbard Fuller

Dayner H. Fuller, 91, of South Peabody, died peacefully at his residence on Monday evening. He was the husband of 68 years to Doris Katherine (Daley) Fuller. He was born in Marblehead on August 19, 1922, the son of the late Philip E. and Grace (Potter) Fuller and had resided there during his youth and later moved to Salem where he Graduated from Salem High School. He had been a resident of Peabody for the past 67 years. He had been a veteran of WW 11 where he served 3 years with the US Coast Guard from 1942 until his discharge as a Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class in 1945. He had been a member of the American Legion Post 153 of Peabody. He had been a custodian with the Peabody School System mostly at the KileySchool in West Peabody for 20 years and later became a director of the special needs transportation system for 4 years until his retirement. Dayner was an avid gardener and enjoyed watching his flowers and vegetables grow to fullness and ripeness. He was an ardent Boston Sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Bruins play Hockey. He loved to putter around the house, fixing things that were broken, but his greatest legacy was his devotion to his family. He leaves his wife, Doris, a son, Richard Fuller of Tampa, FL , a daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Dennis Lunn of Middleton, MA, a sister Grace Fuller Perry of Turners Falls, MA, his six grandchildren, three great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Family Service will be held on Friday at WatersideCemetery, Marblehead. Assisting the family with the service is the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home of Peabody.
