Obituary of John M. Zielski

John M. Zielski, 84 years, of Peabody died Thursday at the Peabody Glen Nursing Center in Peabody. Mr. Zielski was born October 24, 1918 in Salem son of the late Frank and Victoria (Zajchowska) Zielski. He was raised in Peabody and graduated from the Essex County Agricultural School in Danvers class of 1938. During WWII, he served with the 513th Ordinance Heavy Maintenance division and saw battle in Normandy, Northern France, the Rhineland and Central Europe. He was employed for 30 years as an oil delivery man at Holden Oil Company until his retirement 1970. Mr. Zielski was a member of the VFW Fidelity Post 1011, the American Legion Post 153 and the Peabody Lodge of Elks 1409 all in Peabody. He also enjoyed gardening and walking. He is survived by a brother, Walter F. Zielski of Peabody; 2 sisters, Helen V. Quinn and Irene F. Zielski both of Peabody, 9 nieces and nephews, 7 grand nieces and grand nephews, a great grandniece and great grandnephew. He was also the brother of the late Stella A. Goreham. His funeral will be held Monday at 8 a.m. from the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 20 Church St., Peabody location (978-531-0472) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9 a.m. in St. Ann Church, Peabody. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Visiting hours Sunday 4 to 8 p.m. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Peabody.
