Obituary of Leonard H. Russell

Leonard H. Russell, 81, of Marblehead, and formerly of Salem, died peacefully Thursday morning at the Devereux Nursing Center in Marblehead. He was born in Peabody on May 25, 1932, the son of the late Francis E. and Evelyn (Ramsdell) Russell and had resided in Peabody and Salem most of his life before moving to Marblehead 2 and a half years ago. He had been a clerk at the Shaw’s Supermarket in Peabody for many years. Leonard was an avid TV Fan and also liked to go out to the restaurants on the NorthShore. Leonard had been a participant and received great support while he was in the PACE Program in Lynn. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Evelyn Fessenden of Marblehead, Charles Benjamin Russell and Emily Davekos both of Beverly and many grandnieces and grand nephews ,and a sister-in-law, Jeanne Russell of Chelsea. He was the brother of the late Alvan, Francis and Herbert Russell and Norma Russell. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the family lot in the Holten Cemetery, 131 Holten St., Danvers MA. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Following the service visitors and guests will be received at the residence of Evelyn Fessenden in Marblehead from 4:00 until 7:00 PM Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Deveueux House Recreation Fund, 39 Lafayette St., Marblehead, MA 01945 in his memory.
