Obituary of Angelo E. Valotto

Angelo E. Valotto PEABODY—Angelo E. Valotto, 79, beloved husband of Constance (LeBlanc) Valotto, died peacefully on Friday October 18, 2013 at the North Shore Medical Center—Salem Hospital following a long illness. He was born in the Gold Rush Town of Anyox, British Columbia, Canada, and was the son of the late Pietro and Anna (D’Angela) Valotto. His family moved to Italy at the age of 3, where he lived on the family farm in Udine, Italy during World War II. When he was 18, he returned with his father returned to North America where he worked in the fishing industry, unloading the catch of local fishing boats on the docks in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He then came to the United States, settling on the North Shore in Salem, then in Peabody, where he lived for 61 years. Mr. Valotto was a leather worker at HDC Leather, was an Electronic Technician with General Electric in Lynn, and then was owner/operator of Angelo Plastering Company, Inc., of Peabody. Angelo had a passion for striper fishing off Plum Island, was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Salem, and was proud to be a United States Citizen. He is survived by his wife, Constance (LeBlanc) Valotto of Peabody, with whom he shared 56 years of marriage; a daughter, Ann Marie & her husband Scott Richards of Haverhill; two sons, Peter Valotto of Beverly and Michael & his wife Lee-Ann Valotto of Chichester, NH; seven grandchildren, Ryan Richards, Nicole Richards, Michael Angelo Valotto, Alex Valotto, and Matthew Valotto, and Julia Valotto and James Valotto; his first cousin Joseph Piemonte of Salem, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his only sibling Juliette Marsoni. Following cremation, relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for a visitation on Saturday October 26, 2013 from 11 – 1 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody, followed by a Funeral Service at 1 P.M.
