Obituary of Michael J. Craigen

Michael J. Craigen, 71, of Peabody, died on Thursday October 17 at the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers following a brief illness. Born in Peabody, he was the son of the late Michael J. Craigen Sr., and Frances (Jermyn) Craigen. He was a life long resident of Peabody and was educated in Peabody as well. Michael was employed as a mechanic at the former New England Telephone and later Verizon in Lynn and Salem before he finally retired a few years ago. Michael enjoyed talking and listening to his “CB” Radio and scanner and enjoyed fishing the waters of the North Shore. He is survived by his brother, Robert and his wife Janice Blomerth-Craigen of Malden, his two sisters, Nancy Craigen and Maureen and her husband Albert L’Italien, all of Peabody and their children, David L’Italien of Peabody and Scott and Sandra L’Italien of Beverly, and Brian and Lindsay L’Italien of Danvers, and is also survived by four great nieces and nephews, Genevieve, Isaac, Bryce and Liliana L’Italien. Following cremation, his visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 PM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at the funeral home followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
