Obituary of George S. Bento

George S. Bento, 89, loving husband of Louise (Paulino) Bento of Peabody, died on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at the Rosewood Nursing & Rehab Center in Peabody. George was born in Chicopee on February 20, 1924, son of the late Manuel and Julia (Espranca) Bento. He was raised and educated in Peabody and was a lifelong resident of the city. George was a part owner and operator at United Disposal in Peabody, a position he held until his retirement in 1989. He was a loving father who created a home for his family, and was so proud of grandchildren whom he cherished. In his youth and as a young man he was an avid soccer player, enjoyed bowling at Sunnyside Bowling Lanes in Danvers. He was long time member of the Clube de Camoes in Peabody. In addition to his wife Louise with whom he shared 65 years of marriage, he is survived by a son, George M. Bento and his wife Kathy of Ipswich; his grandchildren, Jessica, Rachel, Marylouise, George and Elizabethrose Bento; a brother and his wife, Antonio "Babe" and Olga Bento of FL; many loving nieces and nephews and his beloved feline “Sadie”. He was predeceased by his son Blaine A. Bento in 2010. His family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, November 3, 2013 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. His funeral services will be held on Monday, November 4, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
