Obituary of Deolinda Amaro (Medeiros) Lobo
Deolinda Amaro (Medeiros) Lobo, 86, of Peabody died Tuesday afternoon with her family at her sided at the Peabody Glen Nursing in Peabody following a brief illness. She was the devoted wife of the late José Lobo.
Born in St. Miguel, Azores, Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Ludwina (Amaro) Medeiros. She was raised and educated in Portugal and has spent the last 34 years living in Peabody.
Deolinda was first employed with Duchess Footwear in Salem and later, before she retired, she was an assembler for the Bleyer’s Industries in Wakefield.
She is survived by a son, Jose and his wife Maria Lobo of Peabody, a daughter, Noemia Silva of Peabody, a brother, Benavenute Medeiros of St. Michael’s, Portugal, two sisters, Maria do Ceu of Canada and Olivia Medeiros of New Bedford and also is survived by five grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Her visitation will be held on Friday from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM at the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody followed by her Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, Peabody to which relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Salem.
