Obituary of Pamela M. (MacGowan) Lovett

Pamela M. (MacGowan) Lovett PEABODY—Pamela M. (MacGowan) Lovett, 74, beloved wife of Donald Lovett of Peabody, died peacefully at her home on Monday November 4, 2013, while in the comforting presence of her family. Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Elmer A. and Grace E. (Knowlton) MacGowan. She grew up in Fairhaven, and graduated from Fairhaven High School, Class of 1957. She then enrolled at Catherine Gibbs Secretarial School in Boston. She worked a short time for State Street Bank & Trust in Boston. Mrs. Lovett was a faithfully devoted member of the West Congregational Church community. She served as the church secretary in the 1980’s and into the 1990’s. Pamela also took on a leadership role in Women’s Ministries and Bible study. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, needle point, and decorating her home. She is survived by her husband, Donald Lovett of Peabody, with whom she shared 52 years of marriage; two daughters and their spouses, Allison & Douglas Desautell of MA and Alexandra & Mark Olson of MA; three grandchildren, Douglas, Parker and Cameron Desautell of MA; three brothers, Jonathan C. MacGowan of FL, J. Edwin Jones, III of VA and Charles M. Jones of MA; a sister, Nina M. Bonnoyer of MA; a sister-in-law, Patricia MacNeil of MA, and many nieces & nephews. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to gather for her Funeral Service on Saturday November 9, 2013 at 10 AM in West Congregational Church, 27 Johnson St., Peabody. A visitation will be held on Friday from 4 – 7 P.M. in the Conway, Cahill-Brodeur Funeral Home, 82 Lynn St., Peabody. Burial will be in Puritan Lawn Memorial Park, Peabody.
